P90X2… What’s Your Thoughts?

After watching the preview on each excercise on P90X2. I found out that the workout was really intense compare to the previous P90X. A lot of equiptment was added such us, medicinal ball and excercise ball.

My thought is, this kind of workout is really not suitable for begginers, like if they weight more than 200 pounds. The workout also needs a lot of space so if you only have a little room, you can’t do this workout. Well! I hope this second version of P90X would be a huge success like the first one.

But the good thing about this P90X2 is you only need to workout 5 days a week! Oh man! If Tony Horton lessen the days of workout, this must be a hell of a workout and each day of workout might me crazy!!! BAM!!! And the yoga is only less than 1 hour, thanks GOD!

Well! I am a P90X grad, and I believe this workout is really great and it will shape your body at the end.


P90X…Round 2!!! Bring it.

Good Day! For 90 days of struggling and fighting for fitness, I finally reach the peak! But I am still not contented for the results…I still got a lot of things to do. so, starting this month September 2011, I am going to start or shall I say reboot the P90X 90 Days workout.

My goal is to raise my maximum reps and push my limit here on round 2… Hope I can still get up after each exercise. I need to develop a new shape on my round 2 P90X Results.

My P90X-Insanity Supplement

I am living in Philippines which is a little  Island and it’s really hard to find those P90X recovery drink or Insanity Result and Recovery Drink or even the Shakeology. Well to support my workout I need a substitute supplement. The best Supplement for me is Whey protein.

My P90X-Insanity 90 Days Journey!

If  you are reading this you might be curious or you are looking for an answer if P90X is real. Well! I’m gonna tell, it’s really real! Back on May 2011, I was really heavy, I was 154lbs and I am short. My body was very heavy and I felt very tired all the time. I tried hitting into gym but nothings happen, and I don’t have all the time to go to gym. I am 22 years old, male Filipino and I don’t know if I am physically healthy at that time.

We all know (I assume that most of us know that :D) Bruno Mars was a Half Filipino-American  singer and I really love his songs, one song particularly was “The Lazy Song“.  There he mention “Tomorrow I’ll wake up, do some P90X ” I was like what is P90X anyway, I always sing his song but I don’t know what the hell it is. So! I did some digging and I found out that it is workout program by BeachBody and was author by Tony Horton. I was like hey! I want to try this… So my journey begin…

This is me before P90X:

Phase 1:

During my first month I was like oh man! I can’t do this. All of the workouts were totally extreme. The chest and back really hurting me… I can’t even move my body after that. I can’t even do 1 pull up so I use Resistance bands on that. I can only do 10-15 push ups and that’s my max. The Plyometrics was HELLLL!!!… the jumping and turning and squatting, were bad ass. My knee was really week so I need to rest. Yoga was like heaven to me, there is no rushing just stretching and balance even its more that 1 hour, I really enjoy it. Ab ripper X was really killing my abs, I can’t even complete the reps, esp the mason twist. urgggghhh..

After Phase 1:

The second phase for me was not that hard as the first month. I can do the Plyometrics much easier, In this phase I ate a lot of protein source foods such as eggs, tuna and etc. you can google them but trying to maintain my weight as possible. I still use the resistance bands and my push ups reps are higher this time I can do 15-18 Push ups. On this phase i started to do the hybrid. the P90x-Insanity Hybrid. For me it really works, P90X for me is more on muscle building and muscle toning while Insanity workout works best on cardio and fat loss.

Insanity from the name itself it’s really really insane. I wonder how the girls catch up with Shaun T. on their videos. On the first week  of the insanity workout I can’t really catch up with them, I always took breaks after breaks and you know I was frustrated at first, I thought I already gone through with this intense level of cardio but I’m not. I always kept in mind that I really need to work on this stuff and so I did.

After Phase 2:

Now this is the final phase, and for me I am getting the results as I wanted, we know that my results is not like the many awesome results that we saw on youtube or on p90x websites. Our was not made equally so the results will really depends on our body. On this phase I notice that I’m getting stronger, I’m not using resistance bands anymore, I’m using the pull up bar…  I can do 10 pull ups, and 25-35 push ups… I can even do the yoga crane. And much of my friends say that I really lost weight.  I can do all the movement on the Ab ripper X and I can say that I hate it! but I love it. The mason twist was now easy to me.

Insanity workout was not that hard I can catch up with all the movements i can jump much higher and I can do a lot of reps.

After Phase 3

After my 3 months of hard works I can now go to the world and be less vulnerable. And know my improvement was not as good as what we expected but atleast I have results on my own. By next week on going to do this all over again for round two.  All I can say P90X Really works!!!
